Dazzling success of TADTE 2009 earns acclaim from across the industry
Taipei Taiwan, August 16, 2009 –TADTE 2009 (The 10th Taipei Aerospace and Defense Exhibition) wrapped up dazzling success August 16 with acclaim from across the industry. This 4-day exhibition from August 13 to August 16 brought together the entire industry to the Taipei World Trade Center. The 97 exhibitors occupied 681 booths, 54% and 13% increases respectively on the last show. In addition, there were more 50,000 visitors (person-time) with a nearly 300 professional overseas, a 50% growth from last time. Among them, 80% got great business and express their desire to attend next TADTE.
TADTE 2009 has also won a great reputation from famous international defense exhibitors such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, L-3, Northrop Grumman and ITT. Lockheed Martin said TADTE is a very important trading course with Taiwanese aerospace and defense industry. As for the ITT, TASER and Mil-Parts are willing to extend the scale in next TADTE so do the local first-time participants like CSBC, Morganite, U-Center, and Confucian. Trelleborg Sealing Solutions are also satisfied with this exhibition for its efficient communication with the armed forces of Taiwan.
There were also famous contractors to visit TADTE 2009 such as General Electric, Sikorsky, Swedish SAAB, and BAE System, the largest British defense contractor. Mr. Mark Sadel, director of International Business Development of BAE System said TADTE 2009 is "a great show". And he is impressed by the staff and exhibition and said BAE System will attend next TADTE for latest products display.
In addition, Pusan University from South Korea and Dukes University from San Francisco U.S.A. of the academia are very satisfied by the conferences and seminars in TADTE 2009. There were 9 conferences such as "Performance-Based Logistics International Conference", "ISR and Net Centric Military Solutions", "The Forum to join space industry and research partnerships" to name a few. More than 800 people (person-time) attended with great results.
Colonel Richard Burns from the Pentagon detailed the rules of foreign military purchasing of the U.S. on the first day of TADTE 2009, and also exchanged views with attendant producers. Mr. Jack F. Tang, director of Committee for Aviation and Space Industry Development (CASID), emphasized that "the business of military production is not limited in the last procurement. Special material and manufacturing technology also have unlimited business opportunities". The U. S. Foreign Comparative Test delegates are interested in "smoke-attaching cloth" and "dried food and sealing" technique from Taiwanese manufacturers. The AIDC also signed a 200-billion long-term agreement with Pratt & Whitney for F100-PW-229 aero engine, the AIDC will be included as qualified supplier, a great achievement to promote Taiwanese aerospace industry.
TAITRA, the organizer, also held "1 on 1 trade meeting" for both buyer and local supplier during TADTE 2009 with 20 local companies and buyers from the Spanish GMV, Czech OPTOKON and U.S. Millennium Aerospace attended. The OPTOKON hopes to build technical cooperation with Taiwanese company, and will be an exhibitor at next TADTE. The Millennium Aerospace with 150 million budget plan in 2010 has also got in touch with high quality companies through TADTE 2009 and arranged factory tour after the meeting.
The next TADTE, which will be held in 2011, a century since R.O.C. founded, is expected to take the exhibition to even greater heights of quality and business opportunities.
